Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Amr has been one of the pioneers of the Egyptian entrepreneurial ecosystem since 2003. With 20+ years of experience as a serial entrepreneur, investor and director of high-growth companies, Amr joins Endeavor Egypt as the Chief Executive Officer. Endeavor is a leading global community of, by, and for High-Impact Entrepreneurs operating in 41 countries around the world. Mr. El Abd is also a consultant with the World Bank advising and structuring the first fund of funds program in Egypt. His fields of expertise span new venture creation, business development, investment, training and consultancy, and startup acceleration. Prior to his current roles, Mr. El Abd, was the founding CEO and Vice Chairman of Egypt Ventures, a venture capital firm anchored by the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation in Egypt that invests in innovative driven startups from a diverse range of sectors across Egypt. Mr. El Abd is also founding Chairman of Falak Startups, the largest accelerator in the MENA region. Mr. El Abd served as an economic advisor to the Egyptian minister of Investment for entrepreneurship development. Mr. El Abd has co-founded and held senior managerial positions with several ventures ranging from technology, logistics, training and consultancy, to venture capital investments. Mr. El Abd founded Entrepreneurs Business Forum-Egypt (EBF), the first NGO to support and empower entrepreneurs in Egypt in 2004 and has been an active member of the entrepreneurship ecosystem since then. He has developed many programs for entrepreneurship policy requirements working on creating a supportive environment for new venture creation. Mr. El Abd has a BA in Economics from Georgetown University, USA.
